I agree Ray this is cool and you will have a blast.

Do you get to say a few words? If so put a key grip on it for those who can't make it!

I have no clue - we got the call literally yesterday morning. We are just playing this by ear. This one was a very hard one to do. We really wanted to nail it. So far this year we have won 6 laurels - have been finalist in 3 competitions, with one winning a film short. We always doubt ourselves and sometimes we feel we don't get taken seriously - in that people don't necessarily know what we are doing (at first) though when people do see how good we have gotten - then things change.

IMDb - very excited that the IMDb listed us!

Skiray

Have to thank Alicia for this one... https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10447764/?ref_=rvi_tt

IMDb listed us after their review of some of our work.

It's the only "Mad River Glen" too - as a location....

Thanks MarcSki..  Word is that this edit is now going to be screened in Mammoth and June Mountain on July 16th!  Not sure if you have seen it yet though we do think its on the blog here .

This is our latest, it would be great to get your thoughts on we can improve.

Re: IMDb - very excited that the IMDb listed us!

As some of you may already know, my family and I started this project 11 years ago to first record our family travel mainly skiing (ala Warren Miller) - just video for fun to keep for personal record, simply edited clips together - no story - no music -just the trip. We later put them on Facebook, since at the time FB would accept longer videos to share with our parents, one day, someone said you should make these available to your friends to see too.

In 2011, we decided after seeing a body of work from Jordan Manley that we wanted to get good.  Years later, with no formal training we are now getting into festivals.  Yonkers Film Festival, Lake Placid Film Festival on 10/26 and now the IF3 on 10/19 are just two this week that accepted 3 separate edits and we are just floored about this. Screening next to some very accomplished and trained filmmakers and skiers. Heck, we are in the same lineup as Cody Townsend and Jeremy Jones at the IF3!

To us its amazing that through trial and error how far we we have come in making these edits, though there is still so much to learn. Some may say we still suck and we might even agree since none of us were professionally trained.

Harvey and you all have been so helpful over the years. We wanted to say thanks and give a shout out to the people we met here and some that have found us good enough to film them..

RaisingArizona - thanks for the continued stoke
MarzNC - thanks for the years of input and advice to us
BrownSki -thanks for coming out to meet us at Pico - and letting us record you
Saratoga Skier - thank you for becoming close family friends - and being part of our the edits screening at Lake Placid
Fahz - crazy how we met on here, then not realizing when we crossed paths at Mount Snow years ago - thanks for being in our work and so supportive
Harvey - thanks for what you have done for us and this community

There are certainly others we like thank here though running out of time right now

We hope to get better at making these - still have a long way to be good. Also, to figure a way to make a little income out of this LOL.  So far its negative dollars, though at least the memories we are creating are priceless.

Please join us at one of these - the 1st two - its not all skiing and adventure - its mostly fiction and dram - though all shorts - for Lake Placid Film Festival - we are the only entry that is a 2 time selectee - they got we think 1000 submissions! A total surprise with all of these that we even got in.

Ray...This is amazing. Very happy for you and yours.  Very exciting.

And, why don't you work on getting free skiing before actually making a profit.  :)

Hey MarcSki - thanks so much.

It is - so crazy -we are not sure what to say.  As for free skiing, we are trying to get that. Ironically, it is harder than you think. Most places on the East know us and we have been networking a ton.  Most mountains struggle, others as you know are part of massive companies that have their own media departments. Others think we are influencers, and we don't ever want to be classified as that, and we don't have a huge following. I mean, on YouTube we only have 346 subscribers which most are our friends. Given how long we have been at it, we are not sure why it isn't more, though that said, with a low social media presence, we certainly don't qualify in influencing anyone.  If our work does influence someone, that is great. We are trying to make films, well at least that is what we are aiming to be these days.  Expensive to endeavor to say the least.  So yes, we are working to at least get a couple of tickets here and there. Our first free tickets ever came from Harvey and Mike Pratt to shoot "Peaceful Valley".  Since then, I can count the number of free tickets we have had  - not many.

We are a LONG way from making a profit, and feel confident, the rate of return  - that profit is probably never going to happen. In the meantime, we are embracing what we produce, hopefully there are good enough for others to watch.

Our currency right now are views and we make nothing off that either as we don't have a single advertisement on any of our work.  None, not even on our website.  If you or other can subscribe to our youtube, that certainly can help us  at least secure a paying sponsor.

Thanks MarcSki - we still need to link up one of these days. The only season pass we have right now is Pico. So see us there for sure.

Thanks a million.  We were looking at our older video and the truth is, we would never change a thing.  Crazy - how far we have come along with this and we only dreamed of this a couple of years ago.  This hobby makes skiing seem cheap -though we have way to many hobbies.
