Spring Weather 2019

I know it makes no difference to New Yorkers, but it's snowing hard enough in northern VA for there to be a Winter Weather Warning until 10pm tonight.  Wintergreen has reported 8 inches already.  Massanutten and Wintergreen announced plans to be open March 22-24 a week or two ago.  Folks in the DC area are considering their options for a final weekend for skiing closer than Snowshoe. :-)

I was getting fired up about wearing flip flops but it’s snowing again on the mountain. Guess I’ll go tour tomorrow.

Looking pretty good right now on the cam and updated forecast.

yes, it is getting me excited for tomorrow! Originally I was going to wait for spring skiing on sunday but I will take some fresh snow instead.  Today is wet snow, hoping later into tonight to be a little drier.  Is plattekill known for wind holds or anything?  Tomorrow will be gusty

I would describe them as almost impervious to wind hold. I've never seen one anyway.

Back to weather ladies and gents . . . .  Belleayre is saying they got 4 inches overnight and will get 5 today.  Weather.com says they will get 6 inches today.  

We skied there last weekend - looks like this Saturday will be quite different than last.  Jason - what do you think about wind on Saturday (just want to be prepared).

It will be windy, but not insane...

This thing is a bust for us here in CNY

Can’t wait for Mike to check in.  WF reported 2 overnight initially, now up to 5 (once they measured the summit).  2.5xbase, so if they end up with 8-10 down low.....I’m like a kid on Christmas Eve!  

Skyward 6”, heavier density but great, down low 2-4” very heavy. Still snowing.

Overall:  Great morning can’t beat skiing on a storm weekday....looking forward to see what happens with the rest of the storm.

plattekill reporting 5" and still snowing

just looked at plattekills web cam. saw one skier, almost thought the place was closed. tomorrow morning should be nice minus the wind.

Only a wet wet inch of snow SW corner of ADKs......ut oh.......
