Summer Weather 2018

Beats southern Oregon.  My daughter is heading that way to visit with good friends for a few days.  Highs in the low 100s expected, with lots of smoke from the Northern CA fires.

Hoping to catch cool weather when we are in LP the week of August 21 for the North Country School alumni gathering.

At least the grass at home is green again!

Hit a perfect weekend for Placid.  Thunderstorms late into the night last night, but a gloriously clear (but cool) night tonight, and great weather on tap for the weekend!

Weather was perfect today....up until now!  A little cloudy and cool for the trek up Cascade (perfect), then 80s and sunny for an afternoon visit to Ausable Chasm (perfect).......but the Perseids are doing their thing and the f’ing clouds are in the way (not perfect).  I’m giving it 20 more minutes.....

The weather this summer has been brutal on my apple trees. I'd say I have a 1/4 of the fruit I normally have. Damn.

My crab apple trees have been suffering from Sparge. I’ve been treating them and the apples are back big time this season.

Although it has seemed like a wet and damp summer, the rivers and streams are very low.

Certainly not a wet and damp summer in the St Lawrence River valley region ...anything but here . ONe of the hottest driest summers in years .

I think points south of Alb, it's been a rain forest..This has been the worst summer in recent memory..

It really has. The heat and humidity have been oppressive and draining. I don't live in DC (or Viginia or Georgia or Florida) because I really hate hot & humid weather. Ugh.

I don't remember a lot of weather like this when I was growing up here. It feels like we might have had it for a couple of days, then we'd get a Thunderstorm to sweep it out, and it'd be cool and nice for a few days. Now it seems like there is a lot more humidity and the Thunderstorms don't sweep it away at all.

During the 90's I remember summers with  stretches of 90+ for up to 2 weeks..still this summer sucks (weather wise)

Altho we have been hot and very dry in the St Law Valley i DO agree the Dew POINTS  have been oppresssive for so many days at a time that  i cant remember a summer  quite like this . Now there is call for an El Nino this winter
