Well, I can still ski groomers and being that's all we get the snow for anymore I might as well do that.
Was talking to a buddy of mine about that yesterday, he said, you get used to it after a while. We both laughed.

Living so close it's nice to have options if the riding sucks. Kinda like it does now

Glad that you can at least get out and make some turns. Bumps and jumps can be over rated, sometimes a nice cruise is all you need.

Hmmm. Probably will get Epic Local again because more and more of my friends are getting it and I can avoid crowds using certain strategies at certain mountains... tempted to also spring for a limited ORDA Pass Or possibly IKON base. Definitely will have to choose 2 out of three though.

Does anybody know if you buy a season pass now for next season if it’s good at Whiteface and Gore and Belleayre starting now? The website is unclear.

I intend to renew my Mount van Hoevenberg season pass.  If I can sneak a three day weekend to VT, I want to hit up Rikert Nordic (Middlebury's nordic center) and Trapp, and Stowe / Mt. Mansfield.

I've all but decided on the IKON base pass for $699.  That will make Sugarbush my home next year, expand my season, and allow for powder chasing across North America.  A week/long weekend in Tremblant, Utah and Steamboat will be at my figer-tips.

For the BO dates, if I need to ski, I can always hit the smaller spots I've skied recently (Oak, Middlebury, ect).

An Ikon + an Indy Pass might work well for you, though Magic is one of the few hills on it that black out some of the holidays. 2 days at Bolton + 2 BEast + 2 Cat + 2 Magic =$25/day

This seems like a better plan for you.

MC --- With your PSIA credentials do you really need to buy a pass?

How wild that Gore has fallen so far that people from Saratoga would rather drive further so they can get to Middlebury College Snow Bowl instead of skiing Gore?
100 inches more snow?  But that has always been true.

I dig Gore, but if MSB was the same distance I would definitely ski there.

They are getting ready to bury a big pile of man made snow underneath woodchips and mulch so that it will last all summer and they can spread it around their central arena race area to get the place open in November if they don’t have the temps to make early season snow.

Come on, man. The terrain is just nothing compared to Gore. It's like saying you'd do Snow Ridge over Gore. I love snow, but it'd get boring eventually. I need real steeps (and steep, long tree runs) to keep me interested for a season.

I had/have no idea about the terrain, All I know is 1000 vert, 600 acres, 250 inches of snow.

Seems like a lot of tree skiing and some good skiers call the place home.

I still say if it was as close to me as Gore, I'd ski it. Probably will, but this year is doubtful. Maybe. Got a local invite for a tour.

I've done McCauley (and Snow Ridge) over Gore, when there was more snow.

It's a fun place. It's no Gore.
