Relatively unheard of, Vanderwhacker is in the town of Minerva and can be accessed from 28N.

We skied up to the leanto at Stoney Pond and then across a few other ponds and then down to the Falls Brook Yurts where we had an apres ski party.

Gliding across the pond

There were a couple of good hills, both up and down...conditions were fast

We ended up at the Falls Brook Yurts where we enjoyed the afternoon sunshine with good food, good tequila and good people http://fallsbrookyurts.com/

I dig the pic with everyone huffin it up the hill...

...and the pond pics too. Looks like a great day. How far is the ski?

I don't think I've ever skied with more than maybe five other skiers in the BC.  Very cool to get that all together.

Check out Adk Jeff's version of the tale on Adirondack Almanack too:

It's only 6 miles...pretty easy day of skiing, except for a couple of scary fast downhills, that might have been more pleasant if the snow was more powdery, or even sticky slow spring conditions.

It was great to see Jeff and Beth there too. Jeff gives all the details.

Thanks for posting the link above.  I'll put some more pics on my blog, probably tomorrow.  Just got back from skiing at West tonight.  The "soft spring snow" was a bit crunchy tonight, but fun was had by all as always.  We had a great time on the ski-through on Saturday.
