Just like the "chicken or egg" debate, I wonder who influenced who-this guy or Santana?
Doc, had you heard of him before?
Nope....never had. Want to know more about him.
It's funny how fallin' feels like flyin', even for a little while

They did a good job on the impossible follow up to Back in Black..
I still prefer the Bon Scott era...Bon was one cool dude..
For sure... IMO:opinion they were an edgy blues band with Bonn and more of a metal band with Brian Johnson.  Everything [rock related], in my opinion, went down the shitter during the 80's.

^^^ Huge fan of this song (92-93?)... learned it on Rocksmith a few month ago.   These were kids that could really play... I think when Frogstomp came out they were barely teenagers.

I have to respectfully disagree..My roots are firmly planted with Zep/The Who /Queen ( I saw Queen at MSG in 77)..
The 80's produced Iron Maiden /GNR etc..

Right on... not a huge Maiden fan, but I do love GNR. As I see it, the 80's swung things a bit out of balance... more of a focus on the celebrity/party lifestyle as opposed to musicianship.

The 80's also produced dung piles masquerading as rock bands such as this...

LA Guns was another one of my most favorites --- Could be because the great John West from Ten Man Push used to tour with them

Ok
here is the low down of my late teens..
Every weekend I use to see Twisted Sister, hands down the best bar band that ever lived..Eddie Ojeda lives down the block from me now..

I saw Metallica on their first east coast tour at a club in Staten Island 1982 , They opened for Vandenberg..
Saw Queensryche around that time at the Chance in Poughkeepsie..
One more , I saw Iron Maiden's first tour, with Paul Deano..

The list goes on and on...

Crazy at 54 is still listen to this stuff...

It is my patriotic duty as a Hinterlandian to introduce you folks to some fine musicians from the north.  This band, Whitehorse, is a married couple. They make all the sounds you hear and are amazing to see live. She sings into a telephone mic quite frequently.

80's eh? Well I'm not a huge fan of the cock rock to be honest, some of it wasn't terrible but I was happy to see it die in the early 90's but this is nostalgic for me and from the 80's. Name the ski movie! Nice picks on the Alice In Chains (my favorite grunge rock from the 90's) and 10 Foot Ganja Plant, that's one of my Pandora stations. :)
