Bridgegate Widens: United CEO Resigns

This is mind blowing.  Apparently a Port Authority exec (Samson?) was pressuring United to create a direct flight from Newark to Columbia South Carolina so he could get to his vacation home. When United said no way, he removed a discussion on improvements to Newark Airport from the agenda of the PA meeting.

Still not totally sure why the United CEO resigned, I didn't think caving to extortion was a crime. Must be something bigger going on.

Will be interesting to see how and when CC drops out of the race.

I flew "The Chairman's Flight" a few years ago -- my father lived near Columbia -- and I remember that it was empty in both directions.

Christie is so low in GOP polling that the other candidates didn't see the point in bringing up Bridgegate during the debates. How the hell did he avoid charges? Very similar to Brady and Deflategate.

Samson was definitely one of the Bridgegate clowns, and the United thing just proves he should never have been appointed to anything.  The best spin you can put on Bridgegate is that Christie appointed not one, but THREE people who thought it was a good idea to close the bridge entrance, and that it would please Christie.
Christie is a complete a$$hole, but he appeals to the kind of people who think the world is going to hell because public school teachers can earn a decent living.  Like the Trump thing, it's all anger driven.

Christie is just another NJ Bully. I would not call him a NJ thug but he does act and talk like a bully.
