I get where STE is coming from.
Ski sites like STE (and NYSB) want to be core. Maybe family skiing doesn't project that, but a significant percentage of pageviews come from what I call hardcore family skiers. Like the Marcskis of the world. We spend money too.
For me personally, core means driven by love of skiing. I'm not hucking cliffs, but half of my year is consumed plotting to get quality turns.
