What people were saw at the top of the lift after the rollback started.

If anyone is interested, the conclusion of the independent investigator is that the rollback was caused by human error. After a stoppage due to a power problem, a liftie didn't get things going properly. He has been fired. A couple senior managers have resigned.
https://liftblog.com/2018/03/23/government-human-error-caused-gudauri-rollback/ " . . . Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Dimitry Kumsishvili held a press conference today to announce initial findings of an investigation into the rollback of a 2007 Doppelmayr quad chair at the Gudauri ski resort, which injured 11 people a week ago. French firm Bureau Veritas confirmed the lift’s initial stop was caused by a power outage. “After the chairlift was stopped, the operator had to introduce specific sequence of procedures and after implementation of the certain actions, the operator had to switch the chairlift on to the diesel generator power and bring the tourist to the safe site,” a translated press release reads. “Unfortunately, according to the current conclusion, the operator made a mistake. The combination of the actions that he should have had carried out were not implemented in compliance with the relevant instructions – it was a human error. The report notes the chairlift had undergone an inspection in December and was in “perfect technical order.” The operator on duty at the time has been fired and may face criminal charges at the conclusion of the investigation. The Head of Gudauri Mountain Management and Deputy Director of the Mountain Resort Development Company have both resigned in the wake of the incident. . . ." |
This French guy Rodo is a major road warrior who monoskis all over the world and has an incredibly detailed website about ski lifts. I may have linked to a few of his TRs in the past. If interested, here's his report on Gudauri, where this rollback happened. Looks like an interesting small/medium-sized ski area with its summit at 10,000 feet:

Hmm, pretty fancy place. I guess the gondola is the primary way to start from the base. The serious development started in 2010. Partially because Guadauri is relatively easy to access from Russia. So the chairlift where the rollback happened precedes the construction of the big buildings by a few years. |

They should investigate to see if any former associates of Putin were skiing that day.
Sent from the driver's seat of my car while in motion.
