Potential Christmas storm looking more like a "meltdown"

Yeah Josh is cryin loco. Still...

NWS is calling for a Appalachian cutter, while Josh was calling Great Lakes.

We need a new thread as what we are looking at is beyond the time frame.

It's busy as hell and IMO should be one thread as many of us want to know had to plan time off.

All might not be lost, the storm cuts off over NY and the cold air fills in..This "might" be a unreal event..Wind, Rain then heavy snow...Many more days to go!!!!

Yeah, looks like nothing major in the way of storms until Christmas Eve......whence the Grinch looks to deliver a whole lotta no good for skiers everywhere with visions of powder turns dancing in their heads.  Let's hope the forecast changes again.....

No, I don't plan on skiing after Christmas (I'll be in sunny Florida), but I'd hate to see a hiccup in what has started out as a great season.

I've been counting blessings about the great start to winter, but it's hard to erase the memories of thaws we've seen after such great early snowfalls like we've seen this year..

Latest run is depressing...Not worth going into detail..

I was in Vermont this past weekend and it was a picture perfect Christmas postcard weekend.

We were awed in the breathtaking beauty.

The last time that happened about 15 or so years ago, it was stellar skiing up until Xmas Eve when the rains came. All that beauty was washed away and turned to mud.

I had a feeling this might happen again.

Friggin great, just great......i'm off for most of next week and was planning on skiing every day. Oh well, guess I'll work around the house and do some bird hunting with hopes it turns to snow Xmas eve or something.

What's it take to get there?

Weather for the rest of the year looks pretty terrible, warm with multiple rain chances.  

Agreed that Xmas looks horrible, but I think the cutter around the 27th-28th might be able to do some good for NNY given the -NAO and CAD. 12z EURO/EUROens like snow for Whiteface from that wave.
