Elk mountain PA Sat March 5th

With rain in the forecast for the weekend and uncertain conditions expected ,we chose a close drive to ELk mountain instead of the Catskills. Elk proved to be a great choice and the rain stayed away and temps were warm enough for some soft snow with out the slush conditions. Elk had plenty of snow on and around the slopes. There was a minimal crowd but plenty of skilled skier on the slopes.

The bet snow we found was on the trail Mohawk, a nice black diamond off the left side that seemed almost untouched to about 1oclock. Caleb skied some great tree lines off the side of this trail every trip down it until Ski patrol caught up with him. Elk has signs all over warning about staying out of the woods and only a little sweet talking saved his pass.





 ELk mountain skied  well for us on this Saturday with a nice variety of terrain and good soft spring snow and lap after lap of riding up cruising down! ELk could use a few upgrades in lifts as well as a little more liberal on capable skier hitting their fun array of tree lines.
