Football thread

I'm a big football fan but something just doesn't seem right this season.  Too many games are borderline unwatchable.  Too many games seem fixed.

The officiating is off the charts bad.  Every ref has a different idea of what a catch is.  Roughing passer needs to reviewable.

The rules slanted to offense make it nearly impossible to cover without PI being called.  I hate the Wr screen where the other Wr are blocking or picking.  

If you don't have a elite qb no matter how good the rest of your team you can't win.  Used to be a team with a great D and a running game could win.  

Is it just me that feels this way?

J-E-T-S....Jets, Jets, Jets!  That's all I've got to say.  

Their games have definitely been watchable, they don't have an elite QB, and they have won some game.  They are what you say no longer works.....a great D and a running game on a team that wins.

With the Jets relevant this year I'm quite enjoying the season.

I'm ok with most of the new rules, gotta learn to play within.....but the catch/no catch thing is nuts, so inconsistent on the judgements.

I agree with you I do enjoy the Jets style of football.  I'm rooting for them.  I don't know if they could beat the Pats or Packers but they are entertaining.

If it wasn't for Fan Duel I would not have watched that crappy game last night.  It was a penalty and turnover fest.
