Goodnow mountain

My wife and I hiked the Goodnow mountain trail on Saturday. It's a moderate hike that took around 3 hours round trip. We choose Goodnow because we figured the color would be close to peak in that area. The color was great, but unfortunately we couldn't see it due to the fog at the top. I would think the color would be great next weekend as well.

It's too bad you had bad visibility. Goodnow is located at the southern gateway to the High Peaks in Newcomb. Never climbed it myself, but admired it and tower from Harris Lake and Rich Lake while kayaking. My wife hiked it in mid-April 5 years ago with snowshoes and foot-deep snow at the top.
