Gore Conditions (2016 - 2017)

Keep in mind that Face has the latitude advantage.  Also, from the 10th to the 17th, Gore had more open than Face, but after there was a thaw, Gore had to resurface everything, while Face blew enough snow earlier and just kept expanding terrain.

So I get flamed for posting about this stuff in the conditions thread, and now I'm getting flamed for asking for it to be moved to the thread I created to avoid drift in the conditions thread?!  STFU!!

If you know nothing else about Gore, know this: the mountain is great despite the way it is run, not because of the way it is run.

The people who work there are good people, and they try hard. Some people who work there are great!!! But other mountains kick Gore's ass every year in early, middle, and late season operations. Not sure why that is, but it just is.

Best skiing on the east side, most everything else was very fast.

I tried to keep Neve on the east side, as you guys all said it was better down low. Snow was very good but she was insistent "The Top!" Uncas was decent that one first time.

Neve kept asking me if I thought she could get down Hawkeye.  Goreskimom told us it was bulletproof but somehow Neve chose to go onward.  I told her, if you go down just try to go with it, don't fight it.

She pretty well rocked it, in a way. I mean she went down near the top of the headwall and calmly butt slid the whole thing, standing up at the end. So two points for that.

The nordic looks better.

Pretty much 'cept next time don't sound so pushy when drifts clutter up " your " thread. Drifts are gonna happen. Yea you got grief before for drifting and it wasn't fair to you .

Don't let the blowhards get you down. Your reports and insight are the tops here and no doubt many people like them very much. Try to not be so serious in your responses please.
