Dicey but awesome. A foot of nice consolidated snow in the deciduous.  Marginal elsewhere. Fun as hell.
So a lot of our snow blew into the woods and stayed there?

No one here.  Wall to wall, one way down, soft.  Nice job Gore.

You know what I mean. No mere mortals.

I thought today was awesome.  Last year will do that to you.

Mike said he was hoping they could get back to the guns for 3 nights in a row, Sat, Sun, and Mon, then no go until Thursday or Friday.

Gondi early again.  Just above freezing at the base.

Hard on bear, rippy below the saddle.

Weather.com said there was r*in at Gore today while Whiteface was reporting snow.  Was that true?

Sun and corn snow.  First two runs were crunchy down to the saddle and very carvy below that. When the sun is out it's much more top-2-bottom-ish.

Ahhh...First ride up the Gondi

54 days after starting the countdown, we opened Gore yesterday to what I would consider amazing conditions, a bit damp, but just so good.  Today topped yesterday as the sun broke through and the snow held up, bumped up and even started turning into frozen granular on the top of Foxlair later in the day.

Skiing was wonderful from Foxlair down to Sunway, Quicksilver and into Jamboree and after 5 runs we decided to let the legs relax and head back to camp.  Everyone quite satisfied that both the Gore team and Mother Nature stepped up to deliver a killer opener.

Tomorrow is looking to be the best of the three days for the weekend and I would highly recommend everyone to come out and support the mountain.

Once the clouds broke, I was exceptionally encouraged to see the amount of cover on Gore summit and it appeared that snowmaking might have started on both Uncas and Pine Knot before this weekends warm up, which sets the stage for a great progression moving into December.

Hats off to the Gore team, great job!!

I was there for a few hours in the morning, saw a mysterious guy in black with a fanny pack and broken bindings, wonder who that was?

Felt good to be out for the second day this season, legs got tired at lunch time and it seemed to be getting a little busier so I went home.

Another great day, or morning at least.  Gondi went early again, Duck and I got our first two Gondi cabins solo.  Can't believe the mountain was so empty.  Everyone was at world cup? Skied with Suds too, always a treat.  Great weekend.

Things got busier each day in the early afternoon. I did most of my skiing before that.  I was surprised at how light the mornings were.

Weird!!  Whiteface was the exact opposite.  It was busier in the late morning when I arrived, and emptied out around 1.

Back to Gore Conditions, the report says they're working on a second route via Ruby Run, Showcase, and The Arena.

Arrived at noon. Hardly anyone there and people were already leaving. No bumps were created today. Conditions were great: clear skies, no wind, a few scratchy patches and very small bare spots appearing on each run, but overall very nice snow.
