Can someone in the know explain this to me?  I assume this isn't on the forest preserve, or you'd be going through a different process, or perhaps this is the start of a long road?

Start of the long road. Upper Hudson Trails Alliance initiated a grant  process for a trail assessment in the North Creek area with the purpose of connecting North River [ Garnet Hill ] to the town of North Creek,  and also a back country skiing , mountain biking plan. Once accepted by the town board the negotiations with the DEC and APA can begin. Hopefully once accepted by the town or maybe after this public meeting it will be available online.
