OK, 10 % is not a bad cut for ORDA. The State contribution was only 3-5% of ORDA's budget anyway, based on ORDA's 123 million budget and the State giving them 5 million. Did the State ever kick in the 5 million for this year?

ORDA gets money from many sources, including Corporate Sponsorships, which could be considerable.

I was reading old news articles about the Convention Center. It appears the State is paying for that also and it's not coming out of ORDA's annual budget money. Several old articles mentioned the State budget deadlock last year and said the Convention Center's construction funding would not be tied up in that spending freeze and thus not hold back it's construction.

The Convention Center is slated to open this spring. "Maybe" someday it will earn coin for ORDA.

I wonder who they are going to market this place to. LP is not exactly an easy place for those who need to travel by air.
