Grampa Grunt's gone....

Telemark Dave
...the man, not the lodge....

Story here....

I'm guessing SBR has some insights into this story, as his bro Jonny Jay has a house just up the road in Montgomery Center.

"there is great chaos under heaven, and the situation is excellent" Disclaimer: Telemark Dave is a Hinterlandian. He is not from New York State, and in fact, doesn't even ski there very often. He is also obsessive-compulsive about Voile Charger BC's.

Sick Bird Rider
I never stayed there but the lodge and Grampa are certainly part of the Jay area mythology. I started a thread on TGR about his passing, there are some entertaining memories there:

Cool to see it recognized in Powder. GG's son Brad is Jonny Jay's next door neighbour, he will do a good job running the lodge.

Sad news for sure, but very inspiring to see that his son is going to preserve the lodge.
