Hike at Bearpen Mountain in the Catskills: Sept 3

For those who enjoyed the two pieces related to Bearpen Mountain that we posted last season (an interview with Russ LaChapelle and a Magazine feature about how Russ became familiar with the history of this doomed ski area and his efforts to bring it back from the dead), here's something that looks really interesting: a Bearpen hike led by Russ and Bearpen's founder Dr. Benjamin Lane.

I have no additional information besides what's in the Snowjournal thread, but I really hope that this hike actually happens -- it should be great to hear the two biggest experts on Bearpen giving us the inside story.

We tried to explore Bearpen a few years ago - but there seems to be a lot of private property up there..
So we weren't sure how to get to where we wanted to be without getting hit with some salt shot.. :)
