When I arrived at Hunter it was partly cloudy and 32 degrees. There was a pretty stiff wind and it remained windy all day.
The combination of wind and variable sun kept the trails firm. The bumps never softened. There were very few people skiing, but almost every chair on the 6 had at least 1 person riding.
The flat light and almost icy conditions kept a lid on the high speed cruising. When the sun would pop out it was fun to let the skis run. By noon snow squalls were rolling through mixed with occasional sun. There was a slight accumulation of snow on the mountain.
This is the classic Hunter shot with a cliff on the skiers left and a view of the valley below.
The other side of the trail from the same spot.
Hunter West was open with only Way Out and Claire's. The middle third of Claire's was scraped clean by the time I hit it at 10:30.
I mostly skied the front of Hunter. Here is Kennedy Drive. All in all another great midweek day at Hunter
