Hunter Mountain Releases Free Mobile App

Available through iTunes and Google Play for iPhone and Android users

Hunter, NY – Hunter Mountain has released brand new mobile app for the 2013/2014 season. The app is compatible on both iOS and Android platforms and is available through iTunes and the Google Play store for iPhone and Android users to download.  This app, developed by Treeline Interactive, is free to download and will provide Hunter Mountain skiers and riders up-to-date and interactive information on or off the hill.

The Hunter Mountain App includes an interactive GPS Trail Map which allows users to see trail and grooming information, images and videos that are taken around the resort and even shows a friend’s location on the map.   A Check-In feature allows users to track the number of days that they ski or ride at Hunter Mountain. Deals and Events provide coupons to app users and lists upcoming events at the resort.  A social component to the app provides a wall showing what is being said by other Hunter Mountain App users and works in conjunction with Facebook and Twitter to post messages to the social wall. Live weather provides the 5 day forecast and current weather conditions and In-Depth Snow, Lift and Trail Reporting provide information on the current mountain conditions.

I think this app is really cool, but I'm also a privacy nut. At least, as much as one can be while spamming several ski messageboards. What kind of info do you think it sends back? It must provide some pretty good info for it to be worth it for Hunter and the developers, both.
