Hunter is making snow on Westway

Hunter is making snow on Westway.  Hopefully Purna is blown as well.  Also I sincerely hope that this year Hunter doesn't give up on it after r*in like they did last year.

I skied Huntah all throughout the 90s' (good times...).  Westway is awesome and they never open it.  It smokes Claires.  Purna is very cool too.  Gotta give it props.  Almost doesn't belong at Hunter it's so cool.

before the bumps become unruly Purna is one of the best runs in the Northeast..

I love 44..   Way more than AnnaPurna...  Great to fly down 44 - making huge carves.. Ripping the fence line..
Prune is best when it's covered in moguls..  Love it..  Great bumps created by decent skiers and riders...

But I bet 44 gets more love than the Prune...
Been a lot of negative hub bub about the fact that they took the time to move the chair and it's now over a large expanse of trail that doesn't get any snow making...  Coupled with the fact that patrol is really clamping down on poaching 44 most days.   Because it's pretty dangerous to even walk out on it with all the rock they get pissed. SO better open it rather than have someone kill themselves.. :)

44 won't last as long as the prune tucked away in the woods..

If both are open - it's going to be sick!

44 is my favorite run at Hunter. I think one of the reasons is that it is only fully open with lots of natural snow. That means beautiful, silky, soft conditions without the hard, manmade found on the other trails at Hunter. The bumps are usually perfecto. It truly is a great trail.

Just got back from Hunter.  Westway was totally awesome and I lapped it 7 times.  Clair's was great too and I lapped it 3 times.

How were the lines today? I might play hooky if this storm works out for pow tracks on Westway... It's one of the best pow trails anywhere.

Anything doing on Purna? Now I'm getting greedy!

This was the line on the Zephyr Express mid morning.



Nothing is happening on Purna and nothing will.

Line was negligible...  
44 was great...
Prune still not open.. Too warm to make snow...

Sunday was great too.... Rained a bit around lunch...  Just made the snow better...  :)
