That makes sense.  I can only imagine the pampered Joey's and Jane's bitching about the ice balls that they have to slide though once they get off their heated bubble lift.  

The double grooming/deep tilling is very much the case what I experienced at Sunapee back when I skied there after a rain/freeze. They would always have more sugary snow. This explains it. It always did ski better than other places nearby following a freeze/thaw IMO. Too bad the terrain there wasn't all that interesting.
