Jiminy Peak skied awesome today. It is where I learned to ski over forty years ago and sure is different from when I started skiing there. It is running at full operation with some of the best packed powder groom that I have ever seen in the East. (I'm not making this up!) They let a few runs bump up and a few with groom on one half and bumps on the other. You can still find nice packed powder bumps. There was nobody there today. There were many times that I either saw nobody or saw just a couple of people on the way down. It seems odd that the sun angle is so high with midwinter packed powder conditions. After close to eight hours of skiing with a brief stop for lunch, I am trashed. There was nobody in the lodge. I felt like I was skiing in a private club! I can't believe that we haven't even begun to harvest the spring corn yet! Get it before it all melts away.
