Ski Day 31: As I mentioned earlier Killington is awesome.

I can't believe how cool it is that they blow a royal ton on Superstar and serve up skiing into May and June.

Awesome

I think the Umbrella Bar is also cool.

When I saw a drawing of it, I didn't think much of it, but I hope they keep it permanently.

The snow on Superstar was deep and the bumps were HUGE.

Superstar

River on Skyelark

A 10 foot base

After lunch we hiked.

On the way, amazingly, out of the trees popped Sean Riley, the treemeister from Plattekill.

I couldn't believe it and I was speechless. So cool.

He had been doing laps on flat snow and recommended the stairway to heaven.

We found some incredible snow.

We skied until the snow ran out.

Dinner at Akes Den in Waitsfield with a couple of maggots.

Can't beat it.

Looks like a great day, Harv.  Too funny you ran into Sean coming out of the trees.  We love that guy.  Abby helped him out with some work in the woods at Platty this season.

Thanks all, the day was definitely a dream.  ML had used the phrase "rain groomed corn" in a previous TR, but I don't think I really understood until I skied it.  The quality of the corn snow improves dramatically if it sits.  The run on Cascade was one of my best ever.

Thanks to VT Freeheel for sending me that shot of me.  I can remember so precisely how I was feeling at that moment and the pic will help me remember it again this summer.

Hoping you are right about May skiing X - could always use some luck.
