I took my buddy Tod on a nice ten miler last weekend. I have plenty of my own pics but wanted to share some of his.
We parked at Iona Island and summited the Timp and West Mountains before coming back through Doodletown. If anyone ever wants to swap Harriman ideas, I'm all for it because I can't get enough of that place. It was really interesting, and COLD! The water was still running towards the bottom as it does almost year round but the pools and marshes over 500 ft in elevation for frozen. I know that doesn't sound like much to you ADK'ers, but you literally go up and over all these steep little hills from sea level to 1500, and the hike can be made just as excruciating as a day setting out from the Loj.
