Big changes at Oak Mt.
Matt and Laura Worthington O'Brien, our mountain managers, will be leaving for positions in Maine.
They will be missed by Oak Staff and skiers alike. Matt and Laura brought many new ideas to Oak and were responsible for our Board and Ski Instructors becoming certified. Matt is a master groomer and could fix anything that needed fixing. He was also the best skier on the Mt. Laura is an organizer, business woman and public relations specialist and liked to do Oak Mt Run on her board. We wish them blue bird skies and deep powder in Maine.
Sept 16th was the final day to file bids with the IDA to purchase Oak Mt. No bids were received.
The Village of Speculator board of Trustees will meet Monday Sept 26th at 7:PM to discuss their stewardship of Oak Mt and what the future holds.
A going away party is in the works for Matt and Laura and I will let you know the details as soon as they are available.
