LOL...Greek website still says buy now, start skiing March 20th!
Not sure what the confusion is, I hear they have the boats fired up on the water outside HLL and will pull you for a few laps if you buy a pass.

Looks like Bristol is going for their 100 days. They blew snow last night in a couple of critical spots. Things are pretty thin on many of the still open trails, but it skied well today considering.................They will probably end up with Rocket as the final run.

This post was updated on .
My most recent update on the mountains where nothing is listed.

Bristol Mountain:  Still open, no mention of closing date.
Greek Peak:  Closed for the season.  3/13 was the last day.
Gore Mountain:  Still open, no mention of closing date.
Holiday Valley:  Still open, no mention of closing date.
Holimont:  Closed midweek.  May reopen this weekend and then close 3/27.  If not, 3/20 was the last day.
Hunter Mountain:  Still open, no mention of closing date.
Peek n Peak:  Closed for the season.  Last day was 3/20.
Polar Peak Ski Bowl:  Not open to the public, so can't find info on closing date.
Royal Mountain:  Still open, no mention of closing date.
Whiteface:  Still open, no mention of closing date.
Woods Valley:  Snow report was last updated 3/13.  So they are closed for the season and haven't opened since then.

Still operating daily are Whiteface, Gore, Hunter, Holiday Valley, Bristol, and Royal.  Holimont may open this weekend.  6 open now and possibly 7 open for the weekend.

Also, Belleayre's status should be updated from "open" to "closed".

Hunter is done after this weekend.  Last day is tomorrow, 3/27.  Still they outlasted everyone else in the Catskills by a week.  Can't complain about that.

Working on my annual Eastern Closing Thread and it's looks as bad elsewhere than in the state of New York. The only exception is North of the St. Lawrence Valley and the Gaspé Peninsula.

Anyway, I'm compiling it now and will try to post the info up prior to the first weekend in April. The list never looked so short. As for the state of New York, the only thing I see still without a firm Closed sign on the lift is Bristol, Gore and Whiteface. Yes, that's three.

Bristol is planning on being open until next Sunday 4/3. Their 100 days is Friday, but we hear they will go the extra 2 days.

We skied yesterday in beautiful sun. Getting thin in many spots on the still open trails, but a nice day of skiing before Easter dinner with the family.

Re: NY Ski Area Closing Dates (2016)

Only 76 ski areas might open this weekend from North Carolina to Labrador, 45 being North (Laurentians, Québec City, Charlevoix, Saguenay, North Shore, Labrador) or East (Gaspé) of the St. Lawrence Valley which I believe is unprecedented. As I’m writing this, the Chic Chocs are getting another storm. The situation with closing dates in Eastern Québec hasn’t change yet, they often close with an abondance of snow. The question is, will a small number Southern skiing change the dynamic and provide a bit more incentive to last one or two weekends longer?

New York is down to 3, the current list of places outside of New York's borders with the link below.

Bristol – April 3
Gore – April 3 (weekend only)
Whiteface – April 10

Numbers from previous seasons: Total / New York & New England
2016 : 76 / 19
2015^: 82 / 38 (2nd weekend of April)

Bristol report for Tuesday 3/29. Official trail count is down to 9 unofficial/hill regular count is down to two. Getting narrower, but still nice snow (for what it is!) I need two more days to make 50 for the year-planning on Thursday morning and Saturday. Friends have a condo there and are planning a end of season party.

Today is the last day for Bristol-they snuck in their 100 days. Nothing they can do about 60 degree + temps! I've got to give them credit for making it as long as they did.
