Plattekill was open on 4/15 and didn't open this weekend.
Whiteface just extended to next weekend 4/29. Gore confirmed tomorrow is closing day.
I've lived in New York my entire life.

Bristol was open Sat. and Sun. 4/21 4/22. The Bristol owner wants to open this coming weekend 4/28 and 4/29.

Yep, Dan Fuller wants "braggin' rights" as the first to open and last to close in NY. I was there Saturday and Sunday-two beautiful sunny days. Most trails are getting thin, but they should be able to keep Rocket and maybe the loop going. Rumor is he wants to be open on Tuesday May 1st to set a record. We'll see what the weather brings. |

Bristol won't reopen this weekend so Whiteface wins in NY.
I've lived in New York my entire life.

Bristol DID open yesterday 5/1/2018, so unless Whiteface opens next weekend Bristol wins.
Wasn't too bad (especially for May 1st) although it got pretty muddy and slushy by 11:00..... |

MSS decided to open tomorrow Friday.

We still have a few options in the East, even if you want to ride a chairlift...and both ski areas are looking beyond this weekend.

Thanks for including a historical summary for Killington and the other four ski resorts in the northeast that typically stay open after mid-April. I didn't pay attention to northeast skiing until recently. Didn't realize that Killington typically opened in October until about 2003. It's the only place I've skied before Thanksgiving. |
I try to make it there for Veterans Day, did not this year due to weather. I am usually done after Easter. Growing up in the South I can’t break the feeling that Spring begins on March 15
