It's true.

Web development can be a PITA because you can do something 99.99% right and it still won't work.

I am making the assumption here that people really want the "last post" secret button. I know I do.

I'll try my daughter's iphone when she gets home. As always clear cache and see if it helps.

FYI this is now ONLY a forum issue. The rest of the site has been HTTPS for several weeks.

There are several issues, as every link in the forum has to be addressed.  I felt that the fact that the "last post" link wasn't working was a deal breaker, so we reverted until Nabble could figure it out.  The change, both to and back from HTTPS will cause issues if you don't clear cache.

FWIW marznc is telling me she has cleared cache on all devices and still can't access the forum.

Apologies to all.
Back reading.

I was only looking on my MacBook Pro under Safari 11.  Need to make time to upgrade OS X and Safari.  I generally don't read forums on my iPhone and never post from the phone.

The "Last Post" link is now working, for me anyway.

The word I got is that the fix is "likely" to have caused other issues.  Please report any issues here.

We are now "forcing" SSL (full security).

It seems that SOME of the issues I was having are gone.

Again pls let me know if you are having new (or existing) problems.

Also some people were getting "Security Warnings" to the effect of "This site is not secure."

If you were getting those in the past, has that changed?

Warning, rant ahead.

FFS, I just spent 20 minutes making a little TR, went to post an image from the web, accidentally put in the wrong URL. Error message came up on the image pop-up window thingie, I clicked cancel (I think), and I got booted right out of the forum onto a Firefox startup page. Lost the whole post. Using the back button didn't help and when I went back to the forum, of course the post did not exist.

This brings up another thing I have noticed lately. If you go from "topics" to a post, then click "back" to return to the topics list, you are taken out of the forum as above. Using Firefox 63.03 on Mac OS 10.11.6.

Gonna go split some wood and try again later.

That sucks dude.  We need some real content around here.  It's getting weird

What I do when I'm typing something long on here is periodically highlight and copy it, then if the forum has a spaz attack, I just re-open the window and paste it back.

I ALWAYS do this before I hit "post message" on a longer post.  I've lost a few, here and in other forums, and learned the hard way.

You can also just open a text editor and dump in there too if not being able to see what actually got copied worries you.

Found this while attending to another matter. Somewhat relevant here, but a bit exaggerated.

Sorry about that SBR. The lack of a working "back function" has everything to do with the fact that the forum is embedded in an iframe. If you are trying to go back it would be better to use your history although that is not intuitive or foolproof.

The new forum will not be in a frame, but it aint happening in winter. Next summer is the goal. Sorry for the delay, money is the issue.

Thanks Harv, CS and Johnny. My history does not show the draft of that TR, since it had not been saved online. For long TRs, I have created text offline and reposted. Another technique is to submit your partially completed TR but that of course means that the keeners will be reading your half-finished stuff. Not optimal.

Now that I have split some firewood, whipped up some DIY energy bars (first attempt, should have taken pics) and had a ration of grog, I will attempt to continue the saga of Hinterlandian life.

Given this sentence, it sounds like your internet connection might be a mix of wire coat hangers, duct tape, carrier pigeon and a Rube Goldberg machine.

We have moved the site to HTTPS.

There are some weather images that are not HTTPS and they won't display.

Two of the most important (to me) are these:

My crack developer has figured out a way to pull the "data" onto our server and re-serve it HTTPS.

These images are now here (again), towards the bottom of the page:

https://nyskiblog.com/weather/

I believe this will work, not sure how often NOAA updates the graphics, but we will be pulling them once per hour.
