New Numbering for Whiteface Slides due to the new slide?

Riding the facelift over the weekend it struck me that Slide #3 didn't just get bigger - this was a whole new slide so that there are now 5 slides not just 4 slides in bounds.  Instead of renumbering them so that the new one becomes 3 which requires the old 3 to become 4 and 4 to become 5 - I'm proposing that we call the new slide 3A.  This will be much less confusing as some will likely continue to call them the old numbers.

What do you all think?  If everyone likes it maybe Harv can propose it to bridget widget

I was staring up at that a couple of times this weekend. I don't really care if they rename or not, but I'm looking forward to skiing the "remolded" terrain.

I'm looking forward to see what they look like from the summit chair once that gets open - will post photos then

I'm told again this am that "old" Slide 3, and all of what was added over the summer, will be called "Slide 3."

While the photos do seem to tell one story, B has been consistent on that point.

That's not to say that Patrol won't improvise.

Be very interesting to see what it looks like when we get there.

I'm suprised because patrol took the time to name all the sections of the wilmington trail to avoid confusion as to where an accident / injuried skier is located

they will likely end up with new 3 and old 3

maybe we need a more creative name "the great flood slide", "2011", "Irene" or something else - anybody got any ideas?

Aussie has a valid point and is ahead of the curve. There will be a time when an exact or individual name will be needed  for the new slide to avoid delay causing confusion.

Another few decades and we'll have our own bowl for eastern skiers.  I hope my knees hold out until then.

We're kicking around 2B or Not2B for your 3A....  So nope to your 3A

as in the Whiteface Slides are 2B or Not2B the greatest lift serviced "back country" in da east....  All depends on AK...    

If I could vote, which I know I can't I'd go with 2B or not 2B it has a certain vibe to it. Oops, there goes that vibe thing again. Sorry. ;-)
