One advantage of a small Midwest ski hill is it only takes two night of snow making to get a few runs open. So when Pine Knob said they will be open today my daughter and I started our 20th year of skiing on November 9th. Exactly 7 months and 2 days since I last had my skis on.
Today was the earliest Pine Knob had ever opened and it was the earliest I have ever skied.
They had great coverage with a very good man-made snow. It was sunny and 37 degrees and very little wind. We got 23 runs in and just over 5,000’ of vertical. It was a great way to start the season.
