"Local leaders are exploring the idea of creating a New York state museum of skiing in North Creek.
The state does not have a ski museum, and with the hamlet of North Creek one of the more historic ski destinations in the state thanks to Gore Mountain and the Ski Bowl, a movement is underway to build one on land owned by the town of Johnsburg.
State Sen. Elizabeth Little, R-Queensbury, revealed the venture Friday during the Warren County Board of Supervisors meeting.
Little said she was approached by Dr. Dan O’Keeffe, a historian of North Creek skiing who has written two books and has been touting the opportunity for a museum.
“I really think it would be a great attraction to have in North Creek,” Little said." Continued...
