Photos, with a few extras, from my Rock Pond NY post.

To me the Adirondacks are amazing. While the Park is rightly considered huge — bigger than 2 or 3 national parks combined — I find the scale to be quite small. Pharoah Lakes Wilderness packs a ton of ponds and peaks into 64,000 acres.

Rock Pond is a perfect example.  With a short paddle and a mile portage you can being paddling in a beautiful spot, that oddly, is rarely "crowded."

We parked at Putnam Pond and my girls set sail.

Part of the magic of Rock Pond is the islands.

Anyone else spent time in the Pharoah Lakes Wilderness?
