Apparently there was a derailment on the SNCRR yesterday (the RR called a family member to say they would be canceling their ticket for a ride tomorrow). Their website says the trains are out of service until August 15, though for obvious business reasons they did not state the reason for the cancellations on their website. Anyone have any more information on this- where it happened, any pictures, etc? I know there was a washout on the tracks earlier in July when the floods got bad...
I hope it's no longer than two weeks. I also read an article from a West Coast newspaper about some financial troubles that Iowa Pacific (parent company for SNCRR) is having with another short line RR out west. I hope this doesn't hurt the operation up here.
