The company is contractually obligated to run at least 30 winter train trips a year, and it ran 38 last year. The new schedule will include 32 runs.
The railway (Saratoga North Creek Railroad) will operate the train on holiday weekends and the week of winter break. That schedule will include Martin Luther King weekend, February break, a Valentine’s Day dinner trip and the St. Patrick’s Day “rails and ales” trip.
“We found that most of the people who are riding with us are doing it for a day out instead of to go skiing,” Ed Ellis, president of the railway’s parent company, said. “There will be an opportunity for people to ride the train to ski, and an opportunity for people to ride the train for special events.”Full article
