Spring Weather 2012

I just reset the max/min on our weather station in North River. It was last reset on 3/2/12.  

The low was 4 degrees and the high was 91.

I usually don't look at weather from April to Nov, unless it's something special. Very impressive upper air along with a very strong surface low. Unfortunately the upper low cuts off to early and and goes negative to far south and west. This sucks the surface low into central pa. The short of it is , rain for the ADK's on east. Maybe some light snow at the finish.Harv the Chic Choc's will see rain..A strong south east surface wind will bring in warm air over Quebec..

5 inches in Virgil...heavy wet slop...not cool in April, almost May

Ditto  heavy wet gloppy crap here along the St Lawrence about  2 inches this am

Too bad it didn't hit some of the barely open resorts. Perfect end to this wacky year, snow in October, snow in April, not much in between.

So I'm wondering... with all this beautiful cool weather - did the NAO finally go negative or are these just seasonable temps?

We just had a Spring storm blow thru this past weekend. It snowed close to 48" in 24 hours in the Bridger range! At one point they were getting 5" in one hour, with heavy winds. Now that's a storm! Of course there were idiots out there skiing and kicking off avalanches everywhere. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle had some rescue stories this morning.
