Consider areas like Utah, the Alta snow record shows no considerable amounts since 12/29 - that's a long time for them and the reported snow pack is not "Alta as usual". Mt Mansfield has been getting  more snow lately.

Seems like snow totals for NY (and VT) are being lowered.  Storm track has moved a bit west, so I get that, but I don't totally understand how this will evolve.  I assuming the higher VT totals must come at the end with orographics.

Well if that was the case they should at least update their snow tracker: http://www.alta.com/pages/snowfallhistory.php

Which they finally did - with 19.5" on the 12th.

Does look like the Adirondacks dodged the bullet. It never really rained at the SW end of the High Peaks, a little wet snow was about it.

At higher elevations in the Adirondacks (at least where I was) there was at least 5-6 inches of new snow, probably more. Didn't look like much rain at all.

I haven't done any climbing in about a week and to hear there was a good 5 to 6" of new snow is great news, the snow we had at lower elevations was mixed with sleet but it skis really well. The woods are not too bad right now, kind of a slow buttery feel.

Woke up and was very dubious about Kmart report. It was true, and snowed another 3" by closing. Spent all day in the woods. Best day of the year for me so far. Ride home was tough, multiple accidents closed pass to Rutland, had to go the long way. Vermont big winner with this storm. Nobody there either walked onto all lifts including K1 all day.
