Storm Speculation Feb 3-4 2018

17, wow.  Crazy upslope snow.  Don't think Gore got anywhere close to that from the radar.  

Gore is claiming 7".  Seems like we ended up in some pocket that just got pounded because it seems that everywhere around us got a lot less.  Just the opposite of a lot of storms the last few years.  

Speculator got 20 inches, we were very close to getting 12+, just a few miles too far north (literally)

It's all an approx based on spotters right? Makes Emily's number look ok though.

Definitely an approx only.  The shows 4 inches here in SW corner of park and I measured and reported 14.  

That makes me think it's completely based on spotters with no model generated input.  That surprises me.  You'd think there would be some computer input.

Actually I believe its all computer input, without spotters.  Reason I say that is that I reported, as official spotter, 14" storm total and that is posted on the specific reporting pages of NWS.   Those local amounts not considered in the model view above.
