Read this on facebook. Glad everyone is ok and the damage isn't too bad. They plan to have it repaired and ready to reopen by the weekend.
"The Base Lodge will be closed today for all but ticket sales. Head over to the Sun Bowl lodge for coffee, hot chocolate and yummy tacos! A chimney fire was discovered early this morning and is now contained. All lifts are running including the gondola. Phone and web booking is available. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding."
"A huge thank you to our local fire companies and the Stratton team for their speedy response to this morning’s fire, which was contained to Grizzly’s kitchen. We are grateful that no one was injured. Lifts are running, rentals are available, Ski School and the Village open, Sun Bowl and Mid-Mountain lodges are serving food. Damage was primarily water; we will keep you posted on an ETA for reopening; Base Lodge ticket windows are open but we do ask that you park at the Sun Bowl. Thank you."
