We were able to enjoy a 3 day weekend at Stratton. Skiing on Friday at the end of March is a dream. It snowed an inch or two on Thursday night and was snowing off and on on Friday. The top of Stratton was fogged in all day.

Fresh tracks on Lower Switchback

Emerald Forest

Skiing with Granny is always special

Granny ripping

No lines at the gondola or the American Express 6

Magic in the clouds

When we woke up Saturday it was snowing with temps in the teens. It snowed most of the day. Conditions were excellent.

At the top for first run

North American was closed again for racing - a constant bummer

We found untracked snow all day

By the end of the day the weather started to clear

We woke up to 3 degree temps and this:

Blue skies

Conditions were packed powder over a firm base.

Standard

Bumps on Standard

We could see the High Peaks, The Green Mountains and the Presidentials in NH.

Great views on Polar Bear

We had a great midwinter weekend. Hopefully spring will arrive soon.

Were the steeper glades in play?  We got in the woods at Gore on Saturday, so I imagine they were.

They were hit or miss on Friday. The coverage is good, but it was firm. Saturday was 18 degrees and did not get above 25 and Sunday was 3 degrees to start. Places that were at lower elevation were ok on Saturday, but there was good snow on the trails so we mostly stayed on the trails. Sunday was rock hard.
