The Fall Equinox

Harvey
Administrator

From Wikipedia:

"An equinox occurs twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth's axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the center of the Sun being in the same plane as the Earth's equator. The term equinox can also be used in a broader sense, meaning the date when such a passage happens. The name "equinox" is derived from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), because around the equinox, the night and day have approximately equal length."

Just sayin.'

Wanted to post something to commemorate the milestone.  Wasn't trying to talk down to anyone.

The "you are here" arrow... might be kinda cool to be in the bahamas, but it's also hurricane alley...

Oddly, the longest day, etc doesn't occur on the solstices, but a few days after. Can't recall the explanations, but if you've ever seen the figure 8/infinity type symbol on a globe, that has to do with this event and the way the sun tracks on the earth.

Keep a heads up for that falling satelite.
