HowZaBout the Yugo? When that car first came out I remember reading an article in one of the car magazines that stated, "same day acceleration" in the 0 to 60 column ---- what a hoot
Friend had a Yugo , shifter fell off when he was driving so had the use a screw driver from then on ......as bad as the Opel Kadett which also had similar issues
Life ain't a dress rehearsal: Spread enthusiasm , avoid negative nuts.
When I went to East Germany about a year after the wall fell these things were all over the place. They put out more pollution than a diesel transit bus. They were essentially 40 hp golf carts with plastic bodies.
Unfortunately, the drivers were not as good looking as the girl in the photo.
Everybody remembers the El Camino, Ford Ranchero and the Subaru Brat but did any of you guys ever know anybody with the VW truck/car? I think BMW made their own version back in the day as well.
In college we lusted after that thing, the rabbit diesel pickup. We came of age during the energy crisis, we wanted to be able to carry our shit and get 50 mpg too.

Common man! Everyone knows Evel was a motorcycle guy.
I wondered what car he drove so a google search came up with this. Kinda ugly too, but badass for sure!
"1984 Aston Martin Lagonda with an 8.2-liter Chevy V8 and a tow-behind coffin trailer that he slept in"
This morning I saw a Maserati Quattroporte towing a beat-up utility trailer filled with random junk. Even the rich have to take their shit to the dump. No pics, sorry, you'll just have to believe me. Not an ugly car at all but the trailer made a statement.
How about the Bricklin --- I don't really think it's ugly rather it can't decide what it wants to be. To me it looks part Firebird, part Vette, part 280Z, part TR7 --- strange

And made in the Hinterlands! Ahead of his time in many ways: "The cars had no cigarette lighters or ashtrays[4] "to discourage smoking".[3] A non-smoker, Malcolm Bricklin believed it was unsafe to smoke and drive." From Wikipedia.
