Good news for New York skiers!!!

Just the other day I was wondering about the status of the Little Whiteface chair. Glad to see it's going to be back online for the season. Too bad there isn't enough here to get snowmaking on Hoyt's High.

This was an interesting and complicated grant.  The way it was explained to me: it was called a "reimbursable grant"  from the state that required some complicated coordination to make happen. Essentially all the ORDA venues involved - Gore, Whiteface, and other venues in Lake Placid, had to submit invoices, all together at once to the state. Essentially this meant that bridge loans were required to order (some pretty expensive) parts like snowmaking guns and lift parts etc. Then it had to be submitted to the state for payment. ORDA was working on it all year really and the deal was done in mid-August. Really a good job all around.
