WINDHAM MOUNTAIN ON SCHEDULE FOR PLANNED OPENING DATE
WINDHAM, N.Y. (September 6, 2011): Windham Mountain remains on schedule for its planned opening despite damage caused by Hurricane Irene. A resort official said that the resort is confident of a full recovery by opening day on Thanksgiving, weather permitting.
Tim Woods, president and senior advisor to the Windham Partners, has been leading the resort through the recovery process.
Woods said that although there is still a lot of work to be done, progress made to date is more than encouraging. The base lodge is in the final stages of clean up and compromised culverts and drainage have been repaired.
The resort plans to reopen to the public for its Homecoming Celebration on Columbus Day weekend.
In addition to its own rebuilding, Windham Mountain is providing manpower, supplies and equipment to the Village of Windham and assisting in the cleanup of the town. The resort is also providing work space FEMA and the Red Cross.
