XC trails open on stockpiled snow from last winter

A fascinating read from Faster Skier.  Those crazy Norwegians stockpiled enough snow from last winter that they opened 6K of XC trails on October 29.  They've also apparently got a fleet of snow guns "capable of producing snow at temperatures well above 20 degrees Celsius (about 75 degrees Fahrenheit)."  Wow.  I don't know how that works but it must be expensive as hell.

Canmore Alberta stores last year's snow too, I think they're now open on ~3-5 km now. A tremendous undertaking.  I'd heard about the snowmaking technology for these high temperatures. Unknown if it's utilized anywhere in North America yet.
