how many ski days do you get from your boots

I ski 60+ days a season and i usually get new boots every other season.  I hate breaking in new boots so making that switch is tough but if i try to get another season out of my boots they are so super sloppy by the 3rd spring.  Where do you all draw the line between comfort and performance in boots?  How many days / seasons to you get from your boots before they go to ski boot heaven.

I've been told by some boot fitters that you need to replace your custom orthonics every 4 years but I've gotten 8 out of mine and had them looked at last year but a different boot fitter and told they were fine.  Anyone have any perspective on this?

I've also given up on the tight shell fit and go for comfort in the toe box.

I'll be getting new boots this fall

Every time I've replaced my boots it's because I've gone to wide skis, and the boots I was using wouldn't easily drive them.  That's been about every three years or so - 100 days of skiing.

I've never felt my boots were wearing out when I replaced them.  And liners on tele boots are pretty simple to replace.

I am totally with you on comfort and space in the toe. It is the key to life. And warmth.

everyone says tele boots are more comfortable - i started tele last winter and my teleboots are much less comfortable than my alpine boots.  I have flat feet and i feel my arch streching more and pressure on top of my toes from the bellows of the tele boot.  I'd like to tele more but the comfort factor kept my from doing it.  Maybe I'm just not that good at tele yet and every thing is tensing up compared to relaxing on my alpine gear

Any liner is easily replaced. Although not cheap I've replaced liners in brand new boots with intuition liners. Well worth it
