Ski Day 29: The upper level magic continued as it snowed for most of the day.  Skiing by myself, first tracks, (actually second) on both Moxham and Oak Ridge. 2 inches on top of the cord on Oak Ridge was good.  Really good. I spooned the guy's tracks to conserve it.

My first run at the Ski Bowl Glades was right down the official line. It was decent, but not as good as what we found up higher. I never got to a second tree run at the Bowl, as I ran into frk and mark, who lobbied hard for higher elevations.

Little Pete Gay from Burnt Ridge

We headed right to Barkeater...

To Barkeater

Barkeater was awesome this morning and very good at day's end.

frk in Barkeater

Mark in Barkeater

High Pines

Freeheeln

Dark Side skied nicely, not super hard to find soft snow.

I thought it was interesting that I didn't get to the straightbrook chair until 2pm.

Anyone else with pics or input from the day, post em.

A few more pics added. I'll save a few for a blog entry.

Great to ski with frk, mark, freeheeln and YUKON CORNELIUS.

In the morning, I was rusty but fresh. I felt that I was skiing in balance before lunch.

EDIT: LOL I realized last night that I had actually filmed 60 seconds of video. I thought I was taking stills.

Gore trees ski ok with minimal snow and really good with even AVERAGE snow 150" - we're getting close to that number now.

If you get 25 inches in a week in March, the mountain is very likely to rock.

Saturday was probably only the FIFTH best day for conditions last week.

I can understand how this might be hard for some to imagine. But for me it's true:

This was one of my best days ever.

So pumped I got the accidental video.

Great skiing with you too Yukon.

After I pushed hard for that run on Barkeater, it was a thrill to see your grins.

I need to get my ass upto Gore one of these days...looks like a place I'd really like.

Oh and Harv.....what mountain wouldn't be rocking after a 25" dump in March??  :)

I was trying to be funny, and make a point, I guess. Basically everything in the trees at Gore was well covered with 120 inches including the 2 or 3 big meltdowns.  The twelve inch storm last Tuesday, followed by Camp's 2-tree-4 inches each day really provided a ton of good skiing.

I also go back to the importance of that Christmas snow.  We're seeing the full on mountain (Snowmaking on Lies in March!) because the hill did some serious skiers visits this year.

Lots of good luck this year.

Looking back this was at least the second best day of the year for me.  Possibly the best.

Found a few more pics from the day.

Gore

This could be my favorite on the map spot:
