Greek Peak Improvements

Not a bash sesion, but how would you update greek peak?

Chair 1 becomes a high speed quad

Chair 1 ski trails get stationary high eficanty guns

Chair 4 gets extended to remove the flats

Trail down chair 3 gets re-opened

Add a trail off by the cliff by karyatis way double black

Arcadian gate gets snow making

The trees between the powerlines get opened to glades, maybe one open trail with a t-bar inbetween

Extra trails off arcadian get build

Olypian gets snow making

Main lodge gets moved to where the a frame is to prevent flooding

Hart lake....
Expand water park
Build a small indoor ski slope 200'?
Maybe add some outdoor carnival rides
Build a golf cource
Partner with lab or song to provide a 2 ski area vacation (sounds better if you get more)
Partner with white house landing for river rafting

I know a lab- greek partnership would never happen, but if it could-similar to sugarbush and mrg, would be a foot up and great marketing... stay at our lodge, ski two areas for the price of one.

I've got 399 bucks that says our new owners make this happen

take out a lot of the scrub and dead fall heading up both sides of chair 2
repair/add lighting for night skiing
open chair 5 during the week
Improve the snowmaking on the east side
move the terrain park to the area between Wendys and Alcamine(sp)
cut a trail or 2 off of chair 2 and chair 4
Pie in the sky... replace and extend chair 2 back to the stream
move the magic carpet if the above happens

I'm not certain if Megan is seeking funding to assist with the bike park that has been on the drawing board at the adventure center, or if this also includes lift serviced mountain biking. Somebody posed this question on FB, but I didn't see a response.

In all honesty, I'd take advantage of lift serviced biking, but not a bike park. I currently trek to Killington during the summer for biking, but Greek is a whole lot closer.

In terms of ski area improvements, the owners have a five year plan, with about $25M of improvements proposed.

My understanding is they are applying for a grant --- at this point no mention of lift service biking, but anything is a step in the right direction.

Gp is located on the edge of Kennedy state forest, most the land is or was state owned, so theirs gonna be resistance from ny on some level,

I'm sure out of pocket yhe owners could pay for in part it, the lifts are already their, a few more woods trails to be cut and they got a start... btw for who says whiteface is the closest, they forgot plattekill ski area, a ski area with more hurtles then gp has ( namley bellarye and nys)... if greek looks at how it works for them, despite being a weekend only ski area.........

Would be a big step in the right way for sure ( assuming they don't just make the skiers take the price hit for startup)

Is Greek really the second ski area I know of that sells Starbucks Coffee.  Guess what the other one is.  

I'm under the impression that it's a full on Starbucks Store. At least that was the plan a few month ago.

Greek peak has invested more than $500,000 in snowmaking improvements this year.  No bigger single investment has been made in decades.  We are increasing snowmaking capacity.  We are increasing snowmaking capability to make more snow and better snow in places already serviced and make snow in places that we did not service.  See details below:

Snowmaking Capital Improvements 2014

- 2000' of 12" Ductile water line
- 2000' of 10" Steel air line
- 50 HP Vertical Turbine Booster Pump
- 3 Variable frequency pump drives
- 1 Pump PLC Controller (ties pumps together for max efficiency and should increase our capacity by 1/3)
- 2 reconditioned IR 1,300 CFM air compressors to be installed (additional 2,600 CFM of Air capacity).

Snowmaking Capital Improvements 2013

- New Pump house
- 3 New IR 1,650 CFM air compressors (4,950 CFM of Air capacity)
- 10 Ratnik sled mount tower guns
- 1 ARECO Tower Mount Fan Gun
- 1 SMI Tower Mount Fan Gun
- 1 SMI Fan Gun Mobile unit
- Snowmax injection system

If they build this deck like they originally planned, it will be the biggest deck I personally have ever seen. What a scene we're going to have at GP this year. Ya'll should be VERY jealous iffin your not skiing at Greek this year
