I had my Christmas south with the young'ns this year, drove back last night. The Northway was empty, I would usually see Mass-holes or New Joysee'ites with the Thules on top heading north, but the traffic seemed very light for the start of hell week. Wouldn't be surprised if they looked at the weather both past and future and said - cancel the reservations, let's go bowling. You think they are all going to stay home this year - would be tough on the local businesses?
Even though I am crowd averse, I sure hope they come - lots of people depending on the business.

Doing Hunter tomorrow, most crowded day of the year. Hope I don't have to pull a Pow Assassin and karate chop anyone in the corral.
I'm off to Belleayre tomorrow, looks like all the lifts will be running, hope it won't be too heavy.
Headed to Belle too, not as much open as last year but it is only day 2 for us this year.

There's very thin cover at the local mountains.

Whats that, a 6 inch base?!?
It was about 18 inches in the middle I would say. The width was the issue. Tomorrow could be a holiday nightmare with large crowds on very limited terrain. We are really not having a good year down south. DO NOT tell me to drive north.

Sorry dude - that sucks big time. I won't tell you to drive north, but man that sucks.

Ok. Drive south. ![]() Width of trail is becoming an issue because groomers are being forced to push snow horizontally to avoid dirt patches.

Except you'd need Utah the wonder dog to pull you along. That's what SBR uses after TD tuckers out.
